Welcome to Liberty Leather & Custom Gunstock Carving

All products on my Western GunLeather pages are hand cut and hand crafted one at a time, just as in the saddle shops of the 19th Century.  Everything I make which represents the 19th Century, is true to the period.  Many of the holsters and belts I build are variations of antique gun leather found in museums across the West. The classic book, Packing Iron, Gunleather of the Frontier West, by Richard C. Rattenbury, contains photos and description which have been particularly inspirational as I build holsters and belts.

I do custom leather work other than the items on these pages, for modern as well as 19th Century firearms, so if you have something in mind you don't see here, I will be happy to build to your specifications.  If you find something in Packing Iron, or can furnish a photo of what you have in mind, I can build it for you.

I also do custom gunstock carving / engraving. This is relief carving, done with a high speed dental burr. Precise detail is carved into all of these stocks. Your rifle or shotgun can be transformed into a "presentation quality" piece of art that greatly increases the value of the firearm, and truly makes it a "one of it's kind."

Visit all the pages of my web site to find detailed information about how I make the various belts, holsters, and carvings.   Then contact me to discuss what you would like.

It is encouraging that so many people find us by simply inquiring on an internet search, “Where can I buy a holster?” Or, “Where can I find Western holsters?” even, “Where can I find custom holsters or gun belts?”

We use Hermann Oak vegetable tanned leather - the very best domestic hides, tanned in America, for all our holsters.

         Early Summer Sale:

Until the end of June, with any order for a double rig (2 holsters and any style gun belt), you may order a 3rd holster... our gift to you... at NO COST.

Now you can have a cross draw and two regular holsters. And the third holster can even be a different style. It doesn’t have to be a cross draw. Just our way of celebrating a new shooting season!
